Derby based In Flight Program are a welcome addition to the British rock scene, mainly because they seem to be able to carry off the whole melodic angry rock thing without sounding like Creed. Straight from the rumbling guitar opening and intricate drumming it sounds like a behemoth. As the track builds in intensity and volume, it doesn’t lose any of the tuneful edge that they previously established. As the chorus kicks in elements of Rival Schools or say Hundred Reasons can be seen, but In Flight Program very much have a sound of their own.

With that in mind Days Ago have a lot to live up too. Since the previous EP ‘Mantrap The Surveyors’ the band have undergone a lot of changes. This re-jigging seems to have produced a learner and angrier beast. Sounding like a version of Recover before they started to pussy out. The music is well composed and as a driving force it is led by the snarling vocals. Both songs convey similar emotions in different and exciting ways and show promise into a British music scene which seems a little preoccupied with finding the next ‘Arctic Chief’ sound-a-like.
