Nottingham is a horrible city. Every time I’ve ever been there it rained or was cold or something rubbish BUT I’ve never failed to have a good time. Despite its lack of visual appeal, Nottingham is a pretty good place to live if you like music. They seem to produce 3-4 decent bands to every 1 any other city in England produces (With the exception of Coventry, obviously) but they can’t all be good, can they?

Thousands Of Reflections is a terrible band name but luckily for them, I’m not reviewing their name, I’m reviewing their CD which, thankfully, is pretty good. “Drones & Sharp Teeth” is a post rock gem that is laden with some lovely picky guitars and some nice harmonies in the vocal department. They sound a bit like a more indie Secondsmile with a bit of Radiohead’s less inventive side thrown in. Admittedly, this does have some bad parts. The vocals aren’t particularly good, they sound nice in the harmonies but on their own they leave a lot to be desire which is why they have been heavily reverbed. The drums are ok but they sound really hesitant, like the drummer was a bit nervous or something plus he doesn’t hit the skins very hard at all which leaves the heavier bits sounding a bit empty.

All in all, I quite like this record but I imagine they will improve by the time they release their next.
