Warning:
Rick Wakeman
plays on this album. Don’t worry, though.
Sabbath
may be turning the self-indulgence knob to eleven but the results are still wonderful. You can see where metal’s early antipathy to keyboards began, though, listening to the likes of
Sabbra Cadabra
. It’s like
Jools Holland
jamming with
Slayer
. It’s just wrong. However, the riffs, atmosphere and thump are still present and the remastering once again warms things up perfectly - ideal for an album begun in a castle dungeon. Best enjoyed wearing a tasselled suede jacket (and nothing else), floating in a bath of vodka, with a cocaine atomiser.
