An unsigned trio from Swansea, Dead Rails cite Boston as their main influence.
Whether that’s Boston the 1970s rock pompadours or Boston the overcrowded Lincolnshire market town is a question not, I’m afraid, answered by this single. What it does do is show a band having more in common with the Minutemen and Shellac (although the length of their songs may belie that, at first). There’s just the right sprinkle of indie jangle to go with the punk drive, with the title track showing a louche side with Pavement overtones. Here’s hoping these particular rails don’t lead to a dead end.
