Enemy Of The World

Four Year Strong

In recent years, the crossover between hardcore and pop punk has become more and more intertwined with the likes of A Day To Remember and Set Your Goals having qualities of both genres in their sound.

Worcester Massachusetts’ own Four Year Strong are another such example of this hybrid of sounds. New album Enemy Of The World evokes memories of road trips and summers past with the sing-along choruses and a generally positive outlook projected. The energy of this record is pretty much equivalent of New Found Glory chugging a six-pack of Mountain Dew. Wasting Time (Eternal Summer) definitely screams out hit single with an extra tight rhythm driving the song along.

This has the right degree of bubblegum pop-punk sensibilities without being too sickly sweet like some of Four Year Strong’s contemporaries. Enemy Of The World is a highly polished album, which comes as no surprise with the production credits taken by Machine (Lamb Of God, Every Time I Die) and the mixing done by Goldfinger frontman and music guru John Feldman.

This is a fun, upfront and honest album that is action-packed from start to finish.
