Ira

I wonder where these PR people get their band reference points from, sometimes, I really do.

Ira are not ‘Black Sabbath meets Ian Curtis’ - unless listening to mild, long-winded stoner rock makes you suicidal. I would take issue with the avowed poetry of the lyrics, too. Simply repeating the most thought-provoking line of your song ad infinitum (e.g. ‘they have the clocks but we have the time’ from the title track) does not make it more meaningful. Rather the opposite. It’s like having an earnest sixth-former beating you about the head with a copy of the Bell Jar. They are definitely into their riffy soundscapes, though, so don’t let the length of their tunes fool you - this lot are most definitely not Prog. Musically, if you find Mogwai a bit too eclectic, you’ll probably like this band. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off for a nap.
