Bright Lights (Single)
The Ghost Of A Thousand
It was only a matter of time before The Ghost of a Thousand were catapulted up to the big leagues.
2009 has seen them sign to US punk giants Epitaph, and latest single ’Bright Lights’ shows the world exactly why they’re ready. Slightly more accessible in a way than the material from their debut effort, ’This Is Where The Fight Begins’, but no less adrenaline-fuelled. Sometimes the simple riffs are the best, and this one is shredded with such force and conviction that it’ll make you want to jump out of your chair and start a riot.
’Bright Lights’ is a 4-minute, all-out barrage of raucous, rebellious punk riffs, with venom-spitting vocalist Tom Lacey on top, unrelenting form. They’re no one trick pony, mind you; the inventive drumming keeps things interesting and the energy is quelled and released at all the right moments.
This is the sound of riotous British hardcore punk in 2009. ’New Hopes, New Demonstrations’ is out now, with a solid rock ’n’ roll edge and enough energy to power Brighton Pier.
